WHAT IS A SAFE HOUSE?
A Safe House is exactly what it implies. It is a place where women and men flee to in the night with just the clothes on their back and their children
They are scared and they are scarred and they have nothing: NO money, NO clothes, NO food, NO where to go
Safe houses protect them while they piece their lives back together
There are wonderful crisis organizations all over the world to safely house these people and help them with legal matters, emotional support and to rebuild their lives
If you are a person in immediate danger or know someone who is, please call 911 for help
If you or someone you love needs support and advice in the U.S., call The National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-787-3224. This wonderful organization has saved many lives. You can view their website at www.ndvh.org
All other countries, do a search of women's crisis centers in your area
In keeping with Warrior Kitten's desire to help the abused and the battered we are including help for abused children and the foster care as part of our cause. The children are definitely the most innocent victims and are almost always sent into the foster care system
